Museum Collection
The Collections held by Comann Eachdraidh Uibhist a Tuath comprise over 1000 artefacts that represent the heritage and culture of communities in North Uist. The Collections mainly date to the late 19th and 20th Centuries.
Currently the artefacts are held in the local authority museum store at Torlum on Benbecula. The goal is to create a permanent home for the material at Taigh Chearsabhagh in a purpose built viewing area adjacent to the Museum. Over the coming months the collections are being digitally catalogued at the Torlum Store by volunteers using a specialist software programme, Adlib Museum.
In addition Comann Eachdraidh Uibhist a Tuath hold a wide-ranging photographic collection of approximately 3500 prints and transparencies.
